What you need
- A set of math-fact flashcards (multiplication, addition, or whatever you’re reviewing — in the printable kit)
Setup
Arrange desks so the challenger can stand behind each seated student in turn, working around the room.
How to run it
- One student stands behind a seated classmate. You flash a math-fact card to both of them at once.
- Whoever answers first (correctly) moves on to stand behind the next student; the other stays seated.
- Keep flashing new cards as the standing student "travels" around the room, chair to chair.
- A student "wins" by making it all the way around the room, or you can simply rotate for a set number of minutes and celebrate whoever’s standing at the end.
Variations
- For a quieter version, run it in small groups of 4–6 at a table instead of around the whole room.
- Swap flashcards for verbally-read word problems for a mixed-skills round.
