What you need
- A short mystery scenario (a few are included in the printable kit)
Setup
Pick one short mystery scenario to read aloud — a strange but logically explainable situation with a twist.
How to run it
- Read the mystery scenario aloud once, clearly and without extra hints.
- Students take turns asking yes/no questions to gather more information ("did it happen outside?", "was another person involved?").
- Keep track of confirmed facts on the board as clues come in.
- When someone thinks they’ve solved it, they explain their full theory — confirm whether it matches the real explanation.
Variations
- Split into small groups each working the same mystery, competing to solve it with the fewest questions.
- Have students write their own two-minute mystery to challenge the class with next time.
