Fizz-Buzz Countdown
A fast-paced counting circle where multiples of chosen numbers get replaced with a word — miss one and you’re out.

What you need
- None
Setup
Sit or stand in a circle or rows where turn order is clear.
How to run it
- Pick two numbers and two words — classic version: multiples of 3 become "Fizz," multiples of 5 become "Buzz," multiples of both become "Fizz-Buzz."
- Going around the group in order, each student says the next number — substituting the word wherever it applies.
- Anyone who says the number instead of the word (or hesitates too long) sits out for the rest of that round.
- Keep counting until one or two players are left, then start a fresh round — optionally with harder rules (multiples of 7 and 11 instead).
Variations
- Swap the trigger numbers to match whatever multiplication facts the class is currently practicing.
- For a quieter version, do it as a written relay: pass a paper down the row, each student adds the next number/word.
